'Better Call Saul' season 3 spoilers: moral compasses of Kim and Chuck also in focus

Although "Better Call Saul" season 3 focuses on Jimmy (Bob Odenkirk) drawing closer to becoming Saul Goodman, Odenkirk's character will not be the only ones whose moral codes will be questioned in season 3.

The moral direction for Kim (Rhea Seehorn) and Chuck (Michael McKean), who happen to be both new characters, will be explored in the new season of the "Breaking Bad" spinoff.

In an interview with Vulture, Seehorn said that for "Better Call Saul" season 3, the characters face the danger of things becoming "black-and-white."

"I understand the comfort it gives all of us, and I think the audience feels this when you think about things in black-and-white terms. Like, 'If I just keep my head down and work hard enough things will be okay,'" the actress said. "And that's not true, and it's unsettling when that's not true. And it's not true for Kim and Jimmy, she needs Jimmy as much as Jimmy needs her, I think," she went on to say.

In "Better Call Saul" season 3, fans will see her character "wrestling with that gray area" as her character struggles to make decisions.

The same goes for Chuck, who, in "Better Call Saul" season 3, deals with his brother becoming a "very strange nightmare" for him, other than a mere problem he can solve and whisk away easily.

In general, the new season will deal with the "moral compass" of the characters and how it changes depending on who they interact with and what the situation is.

It will either lead them to "possible danger or possible redemption," although series creator Peter Gould pointed out that Kim and Chuck, while they will confront tough choices, might not see "moral descent" but redemption.

Needless to say, this will not be the case for Jimmy as he will become more and more of his Saul persona in "Better Call Saul" season 3.

Meanwhile, filming for "Better Call Saul" season 3 has officially begun, bringing fans closer to possibly the darkest chapter of Jimmy's life.

Patrick Fabian, who plays the role of Howard Hamlin in the spinoff, shared, via the show's official twitter, a couple of images from the set in Albuquerque  where the show is filmed.

Fabian also said on Twitter that "Better Call Saul" season 3 will likely premiere "sometime in the spring." This, of course, makes sense as the first two seasons premiered during the month of February.
