Bad news for fans of Baymax and the rest of the "Big Hero 6" squad: it is unclear yet if "Big Hero 7" will push through.

This was according to Roy Conli, the animated film's producer, in an interview with ScreenRant. When asked if a sequel to "Big Hero 6" is possible, his response was, "You know, that is still up in the air. Chris Williams and Don Hall, my two directors, we've talked about it, but we just don't know."

He continued, "You know, we want to make sure that if we do move in that direction that we are actually telling a story that is as strong as the original."

He also dismissed the news going around the internet that Tadashi, Hiro's older brother who died in "Big Hero 6" will be returning as the sequel's villain. The producer said that although he is a great character, his comeback is only a rumor.

His cautious answer is in direct contrast to Stan Lee's statement to Toronto Sun in 2015, in which he revealed that the sequel to "Big Hero 6" is being planned by Marvel, along with the other superhero-themed films. He said, "After Ant-Man, we're going to start playing around with Doctor Strange, the Black Panther, the Inhumans, and then we have to come back for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Big Hero 6, the Avengers, Captain America."

While the news may be disheartening to fans, there is still a possibility of the sequel being produced, although the film will not come out anytime soon. After all, the second "The Incredibles" movie was confirmed 10 years after the first movie came out. In the meantime, fans of "Big Hero 6" can watch the animated series, which will air this fall on Disney XD. It has already been renewed for its second season even before its first-episode airing, according to KidScreen.
