As Manny Pacquiao prepares himself for retirement following next year's bout, Floyd Mayweather Sr. expressed in a radio interview his thoughts on the Filipino slugger's legacy, as well as on the latter's potential opponents Amir Khan and Terence Crawford.
Mayweather was interviewed by On The Ropes Boxing Radio and when asked how he thinks Pacquiao would fare against Khan, he answered, "I think Crawford can beat Pacquiao. Amir Khan's got a glass jaw, if you look at him too long, he's gonna fall down. We'll see, but if Pacquiao hits Amir Khan good, Amir Khan's gone."
Both top contenders are reported as likely opponents for Pacquiao's swan song in April 2016, as they seem to be close from sealing the deal.
Reports said Khan and his camp are just waiting for Pacquiao's signature to make the fight official, while reports in the Philippines suggest that the Filipino wants to take on the unbeaten Crawford next.
Pacquiao will leave the sport after 20 years to pursue his political aspiration of becoming a senator in the Philippines.
When Mayweather was asked what he can say about the career of Pacquiao once he retires, he said the former eight-division champion will be remembered as the boxer who chased his son, Floyd Mayweather Jr.
"I'll look at him like a man that was chasing Floyd for years to fight, a fight that was an easy fight for Floyd. I told everybody that the fight was easy," Mayweather told On The Ropes Boxing Radio.
He added, "I don't care how long they waited, when the fight took place, Floyd did what he said he was gonna do and I don't think nobody was wrong in this situation for picking Floyd."
In the interview, Mayweather also poked fun at Pacquiao's trainer Freddie Roach, calling him the "The Joke Coach."
The 63-year-old also boasted how he beat Roach as a trainer and how his boxers were dominating Roach's fighters this year.
