'Bring it on': ISIS threatens new terror attacks on U.S. as Americans celebrate Thanksgiving Day

The Islamic State (ISIS) has released a new video threatening to attack the United States as the nation celebrates Thanksgiving Day this Thursday, the start of the holiday season in America, WND reported.

The video in English, titled "No Respite," taunts America's military and mocks political leaders to "bring it on."

"No Respite" is a phrase that comes directly from verse 71 of the Quran, according to the heavy.com news outlet.

That verse reads: "And recite to them the news of Noah, when he said to his people, 'O my people, if my residence and my reminding of the signs of Allah has become burdensome upon you, then I have relied upon Allah. So resolve upon your plan and [call upon] your associates. Then let not your plan be obscure to you. Then carry it out upon me and do not give me respite."

In the video, ISIS pokes fun of U.S. military manoeuvres in the Middle East and highlights racial tensions in the United States. The video also shows the new areas the terrorist organisation has captured into the last few weeks as it reiterates its goal of establishing a global caliphate.

Meanwhile, the Islamophobia currently sweeping the United States and the mounting calls for the U.S. and its allies as well as Russia to intensify their campaigns to wipe out ISIS are paradoxically playing into the hands of the extremist group, according to Monterey County Now, a California-based news site.

"The terror group has been quite clear that its strategy is to eliminate what it calls the 'grayzone' where Muslims and non-Muslims live in harmony. It aims to provoke Western governments into clamping down on their own Muslim populations, the better to drive them into ISIS's arms," the news site said.

"Years of bitter experience demonstrate that U.S. military intervention in the Middle East has done more to provoke extremism than to stanch it. The terrorists know this, and they're driving the West into deeper military engagement," it added.

In another troubling report, Matt Drudge, one of the leading U.S. political commentators, has tweeted that "America has been arming ISIS."

For the past few weeks, reports have circulated that news U.S. weapons supplied to Syrian rebels were falling into the hands of terror groups.

In a rare tweet, Drudge offered a sinister explanation to this development, suggesting a deliberate effort on the part of the U.S. government to let the weapons fall into ISIS hands.

Early this month, reports circulated that the U.S.-supported Syrian rebels waging war on President Bashar al-Assad's regime have either surrendered or defected to Islamic extremists, yielding their weapons and equipment to the Jabhat al-Nusra group, which is affiliated with al-Qaeda, as the militants swept through the towns and villages the moderates controlled in the northern province of Idlib.
