"Call of Duty: WWII" recently hit $1 billion in sales worldwide, a huge jump from the previous poor sales for "Infinite Warfare." Players are undoubtedly loving the game but for those having a hard time battling Nazi zombies and opposing teams, here are a few cheats and tips that could make holiday gaming so much easier.

The latest "Call of Duty" is a return to the franchise's World War II storyline. However, with a load of new modes and change in gameplay, it may take some getting used to. The problem lies in the lack of information from Sledgehammer Games, which has so far failed to educate players on all the important additions and changes to the game.

Some experts, however, were able to discover these on their own. For example, defending the team in War can be quite a nasty business. Players can use explosives to defend themselves, but these dynamites are timed, and waiting for them to explode puts players at risk. Luckily, players can speed up their detonation by simply shooting the dynamite. This can help players catch enemies off guard, when they think they still have a few seconds before the dynamite explodes.

For the multi-tiered War mode, Sledgehammer changed the gameplay so that kills and deaths do not affect the overall multiplayer combat record. This allows players to focus on the more important objective of the game rather than being scared of getting killed off. Note that the use of scorestreaks has also been disabled for this mode, allowing both the attack and defense team to get equal footing.

Smoke grenades also play a vital role in "WWII" as it allows players to hide from their objectives in the multiplayer. However, players can now overpower this tool and see through the fog by looking for their enemy's gamertag, which can be best viewed from the rifle lens.

A very important trick for battling zombies -- use a shovel to whack them in the head to save on ammunition.

These pointers should help players move through the ranks just a little bit easier than before.
