"Candleman," a game about a sentient candle on a quest, will be coming to Steam on Jan. 31. Developed by Spotlight Interactive, the release date was announced by the developers themselves on Jan. 8

While the game has not been released as of yet, a Steam page with more information regarding "Candleman's" plot and gameplay is already available for those interested in reading more.

Steam's official synopsis of "Candleman" reads: "Despite only being able to burn for 10 seconds, a little candle journeys into the darkness, with the purpose of seeking light."

An action-adventure game set in mostly dimly lit areas, the players must navigate "Candleman" through a variety of obstacles and puzzles, all while trying to do so in dark environments. Because Candleman can only glow for ten seconds at a time, players must use this time wisely to try and map out the areas surrounding Candleman. Players must work in both light and darkness, using each to their advantage. Aside from solving light-based puzzles, players can opt to seek out and collect hidden treasure.

Enchantments are also hidden around the area for players to find.

"Candleman's" PC trailer was uploaded on Jan. 16 to Zodiac Entertainment's (the game's publisher) YouTube channel. A little over a minute long, the trailer showcases some of the puzzles players will have to solve. It also gives those interested in playing the game, a glimpse of how the light and darkness shadow puzzles work. It also highlights some of the platforming aspects of the game, alongside some of the music and the game's fairy tale-like art direction.

The game "Candleman" was originally released for the Xbox One in 2017.

According to PC Gamer there were plans to release the PC version of the game sometime in 2017. However, it did not work out and the release date was pushed back January of 2018.

The Xbox One version of "Candleman" is currently available for purchase on the Microsoft Store.
