'Castle' season 7 spoilers: Next season to start with explosive car accident - where it ended

Castle season 7 ABC

Amidst the great change and transition on the hierarchy behind the camera, "Castle" is returning for season 7 picking up where it left off last season.

If one will remember, the final episode of Season 6 ended with Castle's explosive car accident. Show's creator Andrew W. Marlowe confirmed that the season 7 will continue the plot, exploring more on the accident and the person behind it.

"We feel like, given the way we left off, we have an obligation to start exactly where we ended. So we'll be picking up in real time," he told TV Line.

There is a big change on the showrunners of the show as the show's creator Andrew W. Marlowe stepped down as the executive producer of the series. He was replaced by David Amann who will assume control over the series. Marlowe will still be part of the show behind the scenes; however, his responsibilities were decreased significantly.

His wife and writer for Castle, Terri Edda Miller, reassured worried fans over Twitter. "For those expressing concern: @andrewmarlowe & I aren't leaving #Castle. Still here full time [for season seven]. Amann's just assuming more responsibility," Miller tweeted.

The writer promised that the storyline will remain intact to appease the viewers. Thus, fans do not have to worry that the change in the upper management will affect the storyline of the series.

Marlowe confirmed that the Bracken arc is pretty much over. "We know who [killed Johanna], Beckett has gotten justice ... If there is any future storytelling with Senator Bracken, it would be breaking new ground and not going back to revisit the old ghosts," he said to TVLine.

It is still unconfirmed as to when the season 7 of the series will air. However, all seasons of "Castle" aired between September 18 and September 25, which sparked speculations that season 7 will also start at the same time.
