As the preseason winds down, the Charlotte Hornets will try to close their campaign undefeated when they play against the Indiana Pacers today, Thursday, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum.

The new and improved Hornets are showing in the preseason that they are a force to be reckoned with, winning in all seven of their games so far.

Thursday's matchup against Indiana will be the last in the Hornets' schedule for this year's preseason.

In their most recent preseason triumph, a 99–94 victory over the Detroit Pistons, offseason addition forward Nicolas Batum led Charlotte with a double-double performance.

Batum scored 18 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, and also dished out six assists in 33 minutes of action.

Another offseason acquisition point guard Jeremy Lin, who took over the starting duties with original starter Kemba Walker nursing an injury, also had 18 points, adding five rebounds, five assists, and one steal.

Hornets center Al Jefferson again had a solid performance tallying 17 points, six rebounds, one steal, and one block.

Following their upcoming game against the Pacers, the Hornets will take a short breather before opening their regular season on Oct. 28 taking on the Miami Heat.

Meanwhile, the Pacers are also thriving in the preseason but in their last game lost to the Chicago Bulls 103–94.

Former All-Star Paul George again had a standout performance for Indiana, recording 26 points, 13 rebounds, two steals, and one block.

Starters center Ian Mahinmi and point guard Monta Ellis helped George, scoring 14 points each in a losing effort.

Fellow starter George Hill also provided a great performance for Indiana having 11 points, eight rebounds, three assists, and one steal.

The game against Charlotte will also be the last for the Pacers in this year's preseason before they begin their 2015–16 regular season. Indiana will be on the road to begin its new season as the team heads to Canada to face the Toronto Raptors on Oct. 28.

The game between the Hornets and Pacers will take place today, Oct. 22, at 7:00 p.m. EST. To watch via live stream, click here.
