Two escaped convicts are heading to Windy City in the upcoming episode of the NBC series "Chicago P.D."

In "The Song of Gregory William Yates," CarterMatt reports that the squad is on high alert after getting intel that the notorious serial killer Gregory Yates (guest star Dallas Roberts) and another hardened criminal have bolted from their New York prison and are heading to Chicago. Yates is reportedly after Lindsay (Sophia Bush), who helped send him to prison in the past. It appears that he has been steadily gathering information about the female agent to get revenge.

The episode marks the continuation of the show's crossover with another NBC series, "Law & Order: SVU." Viewers will get to see Benson (guest star Mariska Hargitay) and Fin (guest star Ice-T) working with Voight's (Jason Beghe) team to apprehend the killer. They will be the ones who will warn Lindsay of what is coming. When Platt (Amy Morton) reports on a potential triple homicide care of Yates, the SVU team will fly from New York to Chicago to investigate.

After the probe, both squads will discover that aside from the casualties, another person is missing. They have to find out why Yates is after the woman and reveal their connection. The Yates saga is a two-part story. The first part will be shown in "SVU" on the same day at 9 p.m. EST. Executive producer Matt Olmstead told The Hollywood Reporter last December about Yates' return. The episodes, he said, would be the last time the criminal would infuriate the authorities.

"He comes back to Chicago, and it all goes down in Chicago. Of course, there's a personal connection more so than ever, in terms of Lindsay wanting to get this guy. It's such an intense episode," he shared, adding, "I don't like his odds, in terms of escaping one more time the clutches of P.D. — and Lindsay in particular."

"Chicago P.D." season 3 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST on NBC.
