NBA news 2015: Why is LeBron James wearing 'short' shorts? [VIDEO]

LeBron James has been in the news again lately, not because of his game play but more about his wardrobe.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) has seen the evolution of the basketball uniform from the usual short shorts to the baggy and loose ones which date back to perhaps how Michael Jordan started the fad.

Such overshadowed the usual professional basketball look remembered perhaps from the likes of Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and John Stockton. Now, James seems to want to bring back the good old days and restore order as far as proper playing wear is concerned.

Those short and fit uniforms of old have certainly been the way uniforms were made, not necessarily for the comfort of playing ball and being a fashion trendsetter.

There seems to be no clear reason why James has decided to do such, although he claims that is all about his renewed emphasis on professional appearance.

And mind you, that includes his pregame and postgame attire, something that may eventually start a whole new revolution as far as playing ball with the fit and short uniforms of yesteryears.

Regardless, the change in uniform seems to be hardly affecting his game play. He is still the same James of old and uniforms hardly have a bearing unless a player is trying to start a fashion statement.

What remains to be seen if on whether or not fellow NBA players would follow his lead and do the same. More so, it should be interesting to see if the new fad (or at least the retro return) will rub off on the basketball world as well.

Whether it be long or short, the kind of uniform a player wears hardly has a bearing on how a cager plays. James is a testament to that so it all boils down on whether one wears a uniform for playing or to be simply trendy.
