Costa Rica and Haiti will look to begin the fourth round of the 2018 Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF) World Cup qualifiers with a victory when they square off this Friday at the Estadio Nacional de Costa Rica.

The last time the two nations met was in 2008 in the semifinal round of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) World Cup North and Central America where Costa Rica walked away with a 2-0 victory.

Costa Rica and Haiti fared well in the 2015 CONCACAF Gold Cup as both nations made it to the knockout stage.

Los Matacampeones was in Group B in the Gold Cup with Jamaica, El Salvador, and host nation Canada.

Despite not winning a game in the group stage, Costa Rica managed to finish second in the group after three draws which helped them advance together with Jamaica.

Unfortunately, Costa Rica was unable to advance in the semifinals suffering an overtime loss against Mexico in the knockout stage with the latter going on to win its 10th Gold Cup title.

Haiti was in Group A with the other host nation United States, Panama, and Honduras, and finished second in the group stage to advance to the knockout stage where it lost to Jamaica 1-0.

Now in the 2018 CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying, Costa Rica and Haiti are in Group B with Panama and Jamaica.

Before Friday's match, Los Matacampeones had a morale boosting 1-0 win over the United States in a friendly and will try to bring the momentum against Haiti.

Meanwhile, Les Grenadiers are coming off a 1-1 draw in an exhibition with Guatemala which ended a three-match winning streak in the friendlies played before the match.

The match between Costa Rica and Haiti will be played this Friday, November 13 at 9:00 p.m. EST and to watch via live stream click here.
