The latest "Counting On" sneak peek shows how Joe Duggar surprised his then-fiancé Kendra Duggar (nee: Caldwell) on her birthday. The two have been a married couple since last year, and fans of the reality show are being treated this week with the story of the couple's wedding.

Kendra was planning to spend her 19th birthday shopping for a wedding dress in Kentucky. She did get the dress, and after leaving the bridal shop she decided to enter a restaurant. Little did she know that her husband-to-be Joe was in town, and he surprised her with a birthday party.

Kendra expressed that she could not believe Joe went to Kentucky to visit her. She added that seeing her husband-to-be was just the perfect 19th-birthday gift.

"This is the best birthday gift ever. Just to see you. I've been wanting to see him all day because it was my birthday. I love surprises!" Kendra said in an interview, referring to Joe.

Meanwhile, Joe explained that he had to wake up at four in the morning just so he could get on a 6 a.m. flight bound for Kentucky. However, he also said that "It was definitely worth it all because I was able to surprise Kendra. It was real special for her."

Kendra's main purpose for going to Kentucky was fulfilled, too. She found the wedding dress of her dreams, although it took quite a few tweaks to get there.

It has been reported that she liked the very first dress she tried on. It was a cap sleeve ball gown with an embellished top. However, she did make a little modification to make it uniquely hers — she requested the skirt to be more detailed because she thought the original design was "boring."

Joe and Kendra got married that September of 2017. Highlights of the wedding and more are expected to be shown when "Counting On" resumes airing on TLC.
