Fans of the classic "Crash Bandicoot" games can now prepare for a trip down memory lane as Sony promises to bring back the PlayStation 1 phenomenon to the PlayStation 4 platform soon. To the audience's delight, it might be sooner than most people think.

Brazilian retailer website Ziliongames created a huge buzz for "Crash Bandicoot" fans by putting a placeholder for the remastered game, dated Feb. 28, 2017, with the supposed box art. This immediately got fans to thinking that it may be the date for the much-anticipated release of the game.

As per Game Rant, Sony announced during the E3 2016 that all three Crash Bandicoot games, namely "Crash Bandicoot 1," "Crash Bandicoot 2," and "Crash Bandicoot Warped," are getting remastered versions for the PS4 platforms. This has been the long awaited comeback of the game, so it doesn't come as a surprise that avid followers would jump on every leaked detail related to its release.

Neither Sony nor Activision has made a statement about the launch date, but they have promised that development for the game is already rolling. After all, it would appear that the creators of the game do lend an ear to its loyal fans who wish to see Crash crash the modern consoles.

There is even speculation that the "Crash Bandicoot" titles could be making an appearance in the upcoming PlayStation Experience 2016 event, The Bitbag predicts. With "Crash Bandicoot" being a PS4 exclusive, the said event may be a good venue to finally revive the game and introduce it to the new generation of gamers.

Also, since it is "Crash Bandicoot's" 20th anniversary, the event could serve as a celebration of the said achievement and the start of something new for one of PlayStation's classics.

As of now, no official news is heard on when the Crash Bandicoot titles will be making a comeback, but teasers such as Crash's appearance in "Skylanders: Imaginators" game and even in the animated version would keep fans wanting more of him.
