Dallas Cowboys roster news 2015: Owner Jerry Jones says search for backup quarterback is important

The 2015 National Football League (NFL) regular season is one of the toughest for the Dallas Cowboys because of their quarterback situation; that is why owner Jerry Jones said the search for a backup passer is a must for them.

"We're going to try to all the ways — all ways — to come up with a way to get Tony a backup, while at the same time looking toward the future," Jones on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas last Tuesday, according to ESPN

Jones also mentioned about their upcoming draft pick which he said they will evaluate and look hard at.

Dallas' 2015 season started great until franchise quarterback Tony Romo went down with a collarbone injury that made him miss seven games.

In those games, the Cowboys tried to give Romo's starting job to Brandon Weeden, who struggled and was later released.

After Weeden was given a shot, the Cowboys went with Matt Cassel, but the results remained the same as their playoff hopes continue to weaken.

But after seven games of not seeing a victory, Romo returned in Week 11 and led Dallas to a win over the Miami Dolphins.

After the victory, the Cowboys' playoff chances improved a bit and they were optimistic that there was still a chance. The following week, however, Romo reinjured the collarbone and was ruled out for the 2015 season.

Cassel started again after Romo's second major setback this season and helped the Cowboys win against the Washington Redskins.

But a few games after he regained the starting duties, the Cowboys took away the role from Cassel and gave it to Kellen Moore, who will likely keep the job for their season closer against Washington this Sunday.

Because of the fiasco they had at the quarterback position, Jones discussed, "It's obviously going to be a high priority for us, the backup situation, as it relates to not only being able to come in and do better than we did this year, but whatever way, whatever we do, do better, but we're looking to our future."

The Cowboys are 4–11 this season and are last in the National Football Conference (NFC) East, a division in which they were the champions last season.

More recently, I’ve enjoyed Christian movies Unsung Hero and Jesus Revolution on limited release in the UK, but it’s rare for such films to make the multiplex chains.
