The Marvel fandom is currently abuzz with the commercial success of the latest Marvel movie "Captain America: Civil War." The company is also venturing into the home screen with their Netflix series "Daredevil" and "Jessica Jones."
Gospel Herald reported that Marvel is also planning on widening their TV content with announcements for shows like "Iron Fist," "Luke Cage," "The Punisher" and "The Defenders." The showrunners of "Daredevil" season 2, Marco Ramirez and Doug Petrie, were reportedly said to have left the show so they could work on 'The Defenders'. It is said to start on filming this year, with the premiere set to be around 2017.
Fan Fest believes that fans might be disappointed due to this, since the "Daredevil" series might be put on hold for the time being so the company may spend more time to "focus on other projects in the Marvel cinematic Universe". Ecumenical News supplements this with the notion that some scheduling problems may also have caused the delay. Uber Gizmo also reports that Charlie Cox, the lead actor of "Daredevil", mentioned in an interview last April that he was not too positive about there being a Season 3, if at all. He also said that the story arc for 'The Defenders' might already wrap up the entire Marvel TV-verse plot. However, he does share his wishes for the series to continue, along with the villain Bullseye as an antagonist.
Fans still have various theories about the turnout of the "Daredevil" story line, with many hoping for Elektra to return from the dead, along with others also hoping just as much as Cox for Bullseye to show up as a villain sometime in the future. This may happen sometime in future seasons of "Daredevil", or when they finally wrap up with "The Defenders". However, several issues have already showed up with scheduling- there are various actors involved, so it might take a while. There is no official release date yet, but rest assured that many are expecting the series to premiere this 2017 or 2018.
