The turn-based dungeon crawling video game "Darkest Dungeon" from indie game developer Red Hook Studios will be the latest game in the rapidly growing list of titles that are coming over to the Nintendo Switch.

A teaser video was posted by the game's Twitter account, showing the game running on a screen. Then the video zooms out to reveal that the game is actually running on a Nintendo Switch handheld console.

According to Red Hook Studios co-founder Tyler Sigman, they are planning to launch the game for the popular console before the end of the year. Since the game seems to be already functioning on the Switch, as per the video teaser, it might not be long before the Switch gamers can get their hands on the dungeon crawler.

"Darkest Dungeon" was first released in early 2016 for Microsoft Windows and OS X, followed by PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita releases later in the same year.

After its release, the game garnered critical acclaim because of its compelling gameplay and interesting mechanics. The game effectively simulated stress and the psychological impact of warfare inside exciting and action filled role-playing scenarios.

Its stress-related afflictions that are part of the gameplay required more careful team management and delivered more risky play, but more rewarding victories. The game focused on the complexities of human behavior as much as it tactical gameplay and highlighted strategy.

Porting "Darkest Dungeon" to the Switch will not come as a surprise, as it was already available for PlayStation Vita and has proven to be a nice handheld game. The versatility of the Nintendo Switch will also add a nice touch, as players will have the option to play it on a big screen or boot it up on the go.

Since its release earlier this year, more third party developers are now adding to the growing library of the Nintendo Switch. Even larger games like "Doom" and "Skyrim" have announced that they will be arriving to the console.
