Teri Hatcher: Says Desperate Housewives movie would be great

Teri Hatcher recently commented that she would love to go back to being Susan Mayer if a "Desperate Housewives" movie was to be made.

The 48-year-old made the comments on Extra this week, sparking excitement for the show's millions of fans who would definitely welcome a movie of the show.

When asked if she would be up for a "Desperate Housewives" movie, Hatcher told Extra: "I love the fans of the show so much, and they don't seem to be done with those characters. I think it would be great for them. If a script ever came across my lap, I would read it hoping that it would work out, but I don't really see that happening."

The "Desperate Housewives" series ended with a finale episode after eight seasons in May 2012. The ABC series ran for eight years, between 2004 to 2012.

Creator and executive producer Marc Cherry previously ruled that a movie will not be in the works. According to E!Online, Cherry said in January last year that they are done with the series. " "Sex and the City only did like 69 episodes. The advantage for them was they hadn't really plumbed the depths of those characters, After eight years, I think we're done. I'm happy about it. It's not a bad thing. I feel very satisfied with where we are. I'm never sending these girls to Dubai. That's all I'm saying."

The show featured an ensemble cast: Teri Hatcher as Susan Mayer, Felicity Huffman as Lynette Scavo, Marcia Cross as Bree Van de Kamp, and Eva Longoria as Gabrielle Solis. Brenda Strong narrated the show as the deceased Mary Alice Young.

The final episode of the series drew was the most watched series finale of 2012. The show had approximately 120 million viewers worldwide.
