Even if game developer Bungie is committed to giving more to its "Destiny" game, fans can't help but wonder what "Destiny 2" could bring and what DLC could be added, but nobody can answer it for now. However, fans can look forward to a new DLC pack for the original game before the year ends.

With over 30 million active users, Activision, the game publisher, does not want its fans to be divided into two similar games. So instead of shifting its resources to creating and developing a sequel to "Destiny," it wants to focus its energy on developing another expansion pack for the game, and that is what Bungie is doing.

GameSpot reported that the game's number of players has increased to around 5 million registered players, from November 2015 till the time they reported their quarter earnings last March 31. The earnings call also mentioned that "Destiny" players average more than 100 hours of playtime each, and that is a lot of game time.

The company hasn't mentioned any new games coming this year, but is well aware that fans are looking for more engaging content similar to one of the DLC packs for the game, "The Taken King." The DLC was released last September last year, which coincided with the game's first year anniversary.

The company also mentioned that a "full game sequel" will be ready by 2017, as mentioned in a previous report by GameSpot.

"Destiny" is currently available for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One for US$60. This includes  "The Dark Below," "House of Wolves" and "The Taken King." A Collector's Edition is also available for US$80 and includes three Class Specific Emotes, three Armor Shaders and three Exotic Class Items with XP Bonuses.

Fans can definitely expect another expansion coming this fall, but no details are available except that it's another big one.
