With the new "Destiny" downloadable content (DLC) nearing its release date, fans are getting excited about the additional features the game will offer, such as the new crucible mode along with new quests, gear, and raids. However, these seem to be pretty standard, and it is possible that Bungie is still keeping several tricks up its sleeve to surprise players.
According to Game Rant, Update 2.4 had additional new and obvious content added, such as the Trespasser sidearm. However, it seems that there are a few additional features that have been added yet remained unannounced. In fact, one of these includes a major piece of content for the "Rise of Iron" DLC, which are the submachine guns.
The first evidence of these weapons' existence was seen in the companion app for "Destiny," where players were able to notice that the new "submachine gun" weapon class was added at the bottom of the list. However, while its presence has been confirmed, it seems that there is no additional information attached to the listing, which only intensified the various speculations surrounding the DLC.
Regardless, the same article says that Bungie was known to include residues of content they eventually scrapped in their updates. This is the leading reason why data miners find exotic weapons and armor that never made it past the cutting floor. Despite this, a lot of fans are still hoping that the submachine gun-class weapons will be added to the game once the "Rise of Iron" DLC is out.
As for its mechanics, Movie News Guide says that it works like an in-between gun between the primary and secondary class weapons. They are normally fast-paced weapons: rapid fire but with low-damage output per shot.
As such, once the "Rise of Iron" DLC is released on Sept. 20 for PS4 and Xbox One, players will know whether or not these weapons are in fact included.
