'Destiny' update news: Update 2.2.0 to roll out on April 12, bring several changes to game

 Bungie

"Destiny's" April update will start rolling out on April 12. Bungie, the game developer, made the announcement ahead of its release to give fans an idea what to expect once the update becomes available. The update will automatically be downloaded for those who already have "The Taken King" expansion pack.

Fans get to have a heads-up concerning the upcoming April update for "Destiny: The Taken King." Players can expect new PvE challenges, updates on Sandbox and Crucible PvP activities, an increase in Max Light and its corresponding rewards, the new Blighted Chalice Strike quest, new gears and several more.

Bungie announced via a Twitch livestream event last March 23 that they will be offering new exciting challenges for players in Prison of Elders, Court of Oryx, Heroic Strikes, Nightfall Strikes, King's Fall Raid, Iron Banner and Trials of Osiris. It is only fitting that players get a leverage, thus Max Light has now been raised to 335 max, from 310.

A co-op Prison of Elders activity will also be available with the April update and will require a level 41 player. Another new one is Challenge of the Elders, and will be a weeklong quest. Players who will be able to accumulate 30,000 points for a week will earn themselves some weapons, while those who gain 90,000 cumulative points will get their hands on a high-end armor. However, those who prefer the old version of the activity will still be able to access it.

"Destiny" players will also be treated to a new challenge, the Blighted Chalice Strike. However, Bungie has not released any information about it except for a description that says, "The Taken King is dead. Yet still his armies claw at our worlds. Even as you led the assault on the Dreadnaught, a powerful would-be Taken Prince fled for the safety of the shadows. Hunt him down before he grows too powerful."

Bungie's next Twitch event is scheduled on March 30 at 11 a.m. PST and another one on April 6, same time. For its second stream activity, the developer will be sharing new achievable in-game items and the last one before the scheduled release will be more about the Sandbox and Crucible updates.
