Bandai Namco recently released the opening cinematic for the upcoming game "Dragon Ball FighterZ," giving players a glimpse of the characters they can expect to see.

The game developer launched the trailer just before Christmas via Twitter. It features the return of characters earlier seen in the "Dragon Ball" saga, like Goku, Piccolo, Adult and Kid Gohan, Vegeta, Goku Black, Nappa, Captain Ginyu, Frieza, Android 16 and 18, Majin Buu, Kid Buu, Gotenks, Krillin, Future Trunks, Beerus, Hit and Cell.

It also teases the mysterious character Android 21 and fan-favorite Yamcha.

While this is already a wide roster, experts believe more characters will be revealed before the game's launch next month.

The 2.5-dimensional fighting game, which is set to introduce a bunch of new interesting characters, aims to bring back players to a simpler time of mixing hard-hitting combos, back dropped by nostalgic visuals that will take users back to the 90s.

Bandai Namco has been breaking down some of the characters over at YouTube in recent weeks. "Obnoxious Little Punk" Gotenks delivers for-the-win machine gun punches, Yamcha shows off his expertise at Wang Fang Fist, and Beerus proves why he is the God of Destruction in several character trailers.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam starting Jan. 26, 2018. Anyone interested can now pre-order the game online.

Bandai Namco previously announced that "Dragon Ball FighterZ" will be available for beta testing for those who pre-order starting Jan. 13, at 3 a.m. EST. It will be available for everyone else 24 hours later. The beta testing will run until Jan. 16 at 2:59 a.m. EST.

"Dragon Ball FighterZ" is a 2.5D game developed by Arc System Works. It is called as such because the game is played on a 2D plane, but the characters are rendered in full 3D.
