The identity of Goku Black has been revealed prior to the airing of "Dragon Ball Super" episode 60 which will unveil this longstanding mystery.

In a synopsis for the episode, which is titled "Back to the Future, Goku Black's Identity Revealed," the Goku doppelganger was revealed to be none other than Zamasu himself.

The "Dragon Ball Super" episode 60 synopsis as revealed by Gojitaaf reads: "The true identity of Black is Zamasu who traded his mind and body with Goku thanks to the Super Dragon Balls. Moreover, it is now also proven that Zamasu and Black are at the origin of acts which are even more atrocious."

This is why Goku Black and Zamasu share the same ki blasts and even fights the same way, as per YouTube user The Fan Guy. The facial features also show similarities. All of this is expected to be revealed in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 60.

There were a lot of speculations with regards to the real identity of Goku Black. There were ones saying it was Gohan while others said it was the Supreme Kai Gowasu from Universe 10.

Interestingly, there was also a conjecture that Goku Black was wished to existence from the Super Dragon Balls, which is now revealed to be true, partially.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 60 is expected to go into detail as to how Goku Black came to life and which version of Goku played the role in the trade. The Zamasu that lives inside the villain is likely to be from another timeline.

As for "Dragon Ball Super" episode 61, Gojitaaf also revealed the synopsis for the episode, which is looking to be another exciting one. The description reads: "Black Goku sees Goku and the others as the greatest obstacle in completing 'The 0 Humans Plan.' He turns into Super Saiyan Rose to eliminate them once and for all."

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 60 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 2, while episode 61 will air on Oct. 9.
