"Duck Dynasty" star Alan Robertson said America's Christian values and religious liberty are facing more threats today than at any other time in history. Known as the "beardless brother" of the Robertson clan, Robertson spoke before evangelical and conservative voters during the Values Voters Summit of the Family Research Council (FRC) over the weekend.

"We are in a perilous time, where from positions of power, I don't know that if in my lifetime I have ever seen more of an attack on traditional values, traditional family and really, religious liberty," Robertson said, according to The Christian Post.

Every time he talks about anything associated with the FRC or its president Tony Perkins, Robertson said he gets "the most vile, vicious, mean notes" on his social media accounts. He understands that celebrities face a double standard when it comes to airing their views, but he is not going to stop expressing the truth just because some people disagree with him.

"I guess it's okay for other people, but not so much for us," he said. "So, we are blasted. You know, it is interesting because I am asked why we keep coming back to events like this and talk about it or talking about it in interviews and take this abuse."

For one thing, Robertson said he never runs away from any fight, especially when he is right. He added that God placed Christians on Earth to serve as His mouthpiece, so it is in his conscience to do so. "You don't have to be a pastor. You don't have to be a preacher. You don't even have to be a prophet to be able to do that. You just have to be compelled for the right reasons," he said.

For Christians who are too afraid or intimidated to stand up for their beliefs, Robertson told them not to worry because "we have over 300 years of history on our side... and because this country was founded on the things that we believe in."

God already prepared Christians that they will be persecuted for living a godly life, said Robertson. If Jesus Christ braved persecution, the reality star said he is willing to do the same thing.
