Duggar family news: Joe Duggar and Kendra Caldwell reveal the gender of their first child

"Counting On" star Joe Duggar and his wife Kendra Caldwell happily announced last December that they are expecting their first child. Now, after finding out the gender of their baby, they decided to share it with the rest of the world.

The Christian couple made the announcement on their website and Instagram accounts. On their family website, the couple wrote: "Wow! We are so happy to learn that our firstborn is a boy! Our minds are already racing toward all the future memories to be made with this little guy! Most of all, we are already asking God to bless him and help us grow him into a loving and faithful follower of Christ!"

On Instagram, they shared a cute photo of themselves standing in front of a field of a cloud of blue dust. "It's a boy!" they captioned it. Fans showered the expectant parents with congratulations. "What a blessing, congrats!" a netizen wrote.

"So excited for y'all! Praise God for this new little blessing!" another wrote. "I love how y'all are with one another through the rough times and the joyful times like this moment. Love y'all!"

Joe's parents, Jim Bob and Michelle, also greeted them on social media. "We are so excited for Joe and Kendra! We know they will be great parents and this little one will be such a blessing! We are thankful for all of our precious grandchildren!!" the heads of the "19 Kids and Counting" family wrote.

Joe and Kendra started their courtship last March. On May, during the wedding of Joe's sister Joy-Anna to Austin Forsyth, he finally asked Kendra to marry him. They tied the knot on September 8 at the First Baptist Church in Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and the wedding ceremony was even officiated by Kendra's father, who is a pastor.
