'Duggar Family' news: Joy Anna Duggar wants to have a boy while husband Austin wants a girl

"Counting On" star Joy-Anna Duggar and husband Austin Forsyth are expecting their first baby in 2018. The ninth daughter of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar tied the knot with Austin in May in Rogers, Arkansas with the entire Duggar family and their friends. Austin is hoping for a girl, while her wife Joy wants a baby boy.

The Duggar family welcomed Austin as the newest member of their family after marrying Joy-Anna. In an Instagram post by the Duggar family, they referred to Austin as a "loving husband" to Joy-Anna.

The couple are still unaware if they are having a boy or a girl. TLC released a video featuring the soon-to-be parents talking about their baby. In the video, Austin is heard saying he wants it to be a girl and to grow up just like Joy-Anna. "I hope that our child is pretty much just like her mother. Selfless and always serving." Austin also says there are a lot of boys in the family and that is why he wants to have a daughter. 

Joy-Anna revealed her pregnancy during a conversation with People. "We're so happy and thankful to announce that we're expecting a baby," the mother-to-be said. Her husband Austin said they are excited for their first child and are in the middle of preparing for the coming of the baby. Austin said, "I'm really looking forward to the journey of this pregnancy and all the different stages it will bring. It's really exciting and I feel so blessed to be a dad! We are beyond thankful."

The couple both said it has been always their dream to have a kid together. Joy-Anna and Austin have not shared their preferred names to the public yet. But the pair did state that they will be asking parenting tips from older Duggar siblings. Joy-Anna and Austin's child with be the 10<sup>th grandchild of Jim and Michelle after Josh and Anna Duggar's fifth child Mason.
