It seems like Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard) is determined to get his ex-wife, Cookie, back in the next episode of "Empire" season 3.

In the trailer for the episode titled "Cupid Kills," Cookie appears to be seriously smitten with Angelo Dubois (Taye Diggs). This obviously irked the fearless Lyon patriarch, since he still wants to have Cookie back.

The trailer also showed that Lucious warned Angelo that he and Cookie always find their way back to each other. However, Angelo does not seem to be worried about Lucious' threat.

Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will also feature Jamal Lyon's (Jussie Smollett) major step towards recovery by facing his shooter, Freda Gatz (Bre-z). During his first attempt to confront Freda in prison, Jamal had to retract because of the post-traumatic stress caused by the firing incident in season 2. This time, Jamal should muster the courage to confront his shooter.

Something significant will happen in the fourth episode of "Empire" season 3 when Anika (Grace Byers) returns. A sneak peek was released by FOX, showing her confrontation with Lucious' mother Leah (Leslie Uggams). This means that the Lyon household will be filled with tension as Anika imposes her rights as part of the family.

However, Anika will just be the least of Lucious' problems in the upcoming episode of "Empire" season 3. According to reports, the head of the Empire Entertainment company must watch his back against his half-brother, Tariq Cousins (Morocco Omari). The federal agent will do everything that he can to bring down Lucious and everything around him.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode had been released by TV Guide, which reads: "Lucious takes notice as things heat up between Cookie and Angelo; Jamal makes a big first step on his journey to recovery when he's finally able to face Freda Gatz; Anika causes turmoil upon her return to work at Empire; and Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Grey) develops feelings for Nessa (Sierra A. McClain), even though she seems to have eyes for a different Lyon."

The fourth episode of "Empire" season 3 will air on FOX on Wednesday, Oct. 12.
