Iron Galaxy Studios recently announced the release date for its adventure video game "Extinction." The video game is slated for an April 10 release date which will be accompanied by a Season Pass.

"Extinction" is among the highly-anticipated video game releases this year after its announcement back in 2017. The giant-slaying video game can now be pre-ordered for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The standard version of the game is valued at $59.99 and the deluxe edition with the "Days of Dolorum" Season Pass costs $69.99 apiece. Iron Galaxy has not provided any information about the Season Pass and what it brings to the game.

The plot of the story revolves around the last remaining survivor of the Sentinels, Avil, taking on a horde of giant ogres called Ravenii. "You are one of the world's last defenders, a warrior named Avil equipped with skill, speed and strength to oppose the endless wave of Ravenii," the game's description reads.

The Ravenii are a race of over 150 feet tall ogres from another planet. Dolorum is the game's setting and is govern by the Ravenii.

The game introduces a massive story campaign as well as side missions. Gamers are already familiar with the title's gameplay with its extensive combat based on skills and strategy. According to "Extinction" executive producer Derek Neal, the game is not just a simple hack 'n' slash game as it relies on combat techniques and strategies. "You'll be running into a wide variety of opponents that requires very different tactics in order to defeat," he said.

Neal also teased fans with Avil's various abilities like the Grapple Whip, Rune Energy Overflow, Rune Gravity, Rune Slowdown, and more.

"Extinction," other than the main campaign and side quests, also has two different combat modes — the Skirmish and Extinction. The world of Dolorum is also designed with unique battle arenas to provide different battle scenarios and experiences to players.
