PlayStation 4 owners can now rejoice, partly. Mods for "Fallout 4" are now available online. However, players will have to wait for the game update, expected to arrive before the end of the month, in order for these mods to take effect.

There are now over 80 mods available on Bethesda's website, the game developer, for the PlayStation 4 console. These mods will allow players to change their character's looks, alter the interior looks of buildings, and a lot more.

Currently, the studio is still waiting for the certification coming from Sony and Microsoft for the new update for its Creation Kit. The PC version is already usable, which has never really had an issue similar to the consoles, Polygon reported.

The "Fallout 4" mods for the PlayStation 4 did not go according to the original plan. Bethesda planned to have a similar ecosystem across all the platforms but was stopped by Sony when it did not approve accessing external assets for their game. This means players cannot download any textures, sounds, models, or animations directly from the internet. Things will need to go through Bethesda, which will then roll out an update that will add more to its Creation Kit.

Last month, Pete Hines from the studio has updated the game fans on the status of the mods for the PlayStation 4. He previously said that they are in constant communication with Sony to work things out. The studio is also planning to offer mods to the "Skyrim Special Edition," according to WCCFTech.

Rumors suggest that Sony does not want to open any potential security risks for their video game console, who could then create exploits and make the device vulnerable.

Meanwhile, "Fallout 4" Update 1.8 is already available for the Windows PC. The latest patch brings in bug fixes for the issues with the sound effects that happens after reloading an area, fixed the spaces issue in Mods search queries and resolved the game crash issue that happens when one exits the Main Menu in order to start a new game.

"Fallout 4" can now be enjoyed on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC.
