Slowly but surely, the star-studded cast of the upcoming Warner Bros' "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is being revealed. Fans who have been eagerly anticipating new updates regarding J.K. Rowling's latest project will be happy to know that another name has been added to the roster of actors in the Harry Potter spin-off.
The Hollywood Reporter reveals that Colin Farrell will play the role of Graves, a wizard whom the protagonist Newt Scamander meets in New York. The Irish actor will be joining Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston, who will take on the role of Scamander and his love interest, Porpetina, respectively. Ezra Miller, who will be playing a villain, has also been tapped for the movie.
Meanwhile, three more actors are expected to give life to J.K Rowling's masterpiece. Dan Fogler will be Jacob, a Muggle or a non-magical person. According to Deadline, he will become one of Newt's friends on his adventures. Alison Sudol will also lend her acting skills to the film when she portrays Queenie's character. Variety reports that she will be Waterston's younger sister in the spin-off. Queenie will encounter Newt in one of his stopovers while searching for magical creatures.
Warner Bros has confirmed to Newsround that the actress who will play Modesty has been chosen. Faith Wood-Blagrove was the one picked out of thousands of girls who auditioned. The British girl, only 10-years-old, is expected to bring "inner strength and stillness" to the haunted character.
"Fantastic Beasts" is actually one of Harry Potter's textbooks in Hogwarts. The movie is set in New York, 70 years before the Chosen One read the book. The story follows Newt Scamader, a "magiczoologist," on his quest to find and document magical creatures across the world. J.K Rowling, who authored the book, will also serve as the film's co-producer.
"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" is expected to premiere in theaters in November 2016.
