'Far Cry 5' DLC news: All three story DLCs revealed

"Far Cry 5" has not even been released yet but there is already more of it on the way, as the developers have announced three additional story downloadable contents (DLCs) for the first-person shooter (FPS).

Of course "Far Cry 5" being the latest and wackiest in popular "Far Cry" franchise also makes these said DLCs as erratic as the core idea behind the game itself. Bluntly put, the three DLCs are about Vietnam War, Space Battles and Zombies, all of which are similar in structure to "Far Cry 3's" standalone "Blood Dragon" DLC, which has an entirely different story compared with the quasi-realistic undertones and influences of the main game.

Though unlike "Blood Dragon" for the third game, it seems the three DLCs of "Far Cry 5" will not be standalone contents and might require the base game, though this has not been clarified yet. There is also no official release date announcement for the three DLCs at the moment, though their unveiling could indicate that they might not be too far off compared with the main game's release, which is March 27.

The first of the three DLCs is called "Hours of Darkness" and will let players step into the shoes of a Vietnam War U.S. soldier in what appears to be an action war movie. As such, players will have to face the Viet Cong, fly in helicopters, and fight alongside other U.S. soldiers, and those who are familiar with Vietnam War movies or even comedies like "Tropic Thunder" will find plenty to like in "Hours of Darkness."

The second one is called "Lost on Mars" in which players will have to fight off Martian aliens that want to destroy Earth. They will be doing so using futuristic weapons and other science-fiction (sci-fi) and alien media tropes.

Last but not the least, the final DLC is called "Dead Living Zombies" and as indicated by its name, it is a zombie survival DLC for "Far Cry 5." Players can invite their friends or online strangers in order to fight off waves of zombies in different scenarios.

All three can be bought as a single package by purchasing the "Far Cry 5" DLC Season Pass for $30, though those interested might want to keep their eyes open for release date announcements first.
