Japanese tech and gaming company Sony debunked the rumors that "Final Fantasy XV" will be released this year, prompting speculations that the game is slated for 2016.

Sony posted in its PlayStation Blog the roster of games it will release in 2015. The Big List contains a number of much-awaited titles for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, but it does not include "Final Fantasy XV." Thus, game enthusiasts are now speculating that the next installment in the "Final Fantasy" series will be released next year.

Meanwhile, the demo version of the game is scheduled to roll out on March 17 along with the seeding of "Final Fantasy Type-0 HD". The game is now available for pre-order from Sony authorized dealers, and gamers will get a limited steel book.

Game developer Square Enix announced before that gamers interested in trying out the new "Final Fantasy" title must buy the first run copies of "Type-0 HD" first. So far, the game publisher has not revealed how gamers can retrieve the demo version of the game. It is most likely that players will have to enter the code to get the demo version.

"First ... this demo is exclusive to Final Fantasy Type-0 HD. We're never going to release it as a stand-alone piece down the line. Secondly, it's intended to be a special gift for those of you who purchase early — the demo will be limited to the 'Day One' edition of the game, meaning that only the first shipment is going to have the demo in it. So if the demo is something you think you might like, we highly encourage you to pre-order or to be quick about getting to the store on launch day, March 17th, 2015," Square Enix product marketing manager Scott Strichart said in the PlayStation Blog.

Reports claim that "Final Fantasy XV" demo will include three to four hours of gameplay showing off the Duscae region. Square Enix also confirmed that there will be no boss fights in the demo version. The demo version is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One; however, Sony has not spilled the concrete launch date of the official version of the "Final Fantasy XV."
