Although Scott Cawthon surprised everyone with an early release of his much-awaited spin-off title from the "Five Nights at Freddy's" series, the roll-out was not a smooth one. While the game maintained a positive rating among its players, feedback pointed to the title missing some key elements. Cawthon himself admitted the lapse and pulled the game out of its download sources.

Meanwhile, the developer also promised to continuously work on "Five Nights at Freddy's World" and that the game will be a free download when it is re-released.

In Cawthon's latest post on his "Five Nights at Freddy's" page on the Steam Community website, the developer admitted the lapse in judgment and that he himself was not satisfied with how the game turned out. However, the developer has high hopes for the second release of the title and will work on the RPG not just to add the missing elements but to improve the title overall.

Cawthon discussed making the new, improved version of the game a free title for players.

"I'm still going to work on 'FNaF World' and polish it up. I'm busy creating a fully 3D overworld for the game. When I'm ready to update the game, I will replace the demo currently on GameJolt with the full game. From this point forward, the game will always be free on GameJolt and Steam," he said.

Cawthon also discussed reimbursing dissatisfied players who have already purchased the first release.

"I've also asked Valve to make it so that the game can be refunded regardless of the amount of the time it has been owned, meaning that anyone can get a refund at any time," Cawthon said.

The original release date of "Five Nights at Freddy's World" was supposed to be on Feb. 19 for the PC, and mobile versions were to follow after. However, as with the other surprise releases of Cawthon's previous "Five Nights at Freddy's" titles, the spin-off game became available much earlier than the expected date.
