The wife of Ivan Lopez, the soldier who killed three people and left 16 wounded, was reportedly "hysterical" after finding out that her husband was the gunman.

The wife of the 34-year-old gunman is believed to Karla Lopez, who moved to the Killeen area with her husband and their child in February.

Xanderia Morris, a neighbor of the family, told CNN that Lopez came out of her home in tears once news broke of the shooting and was concerned that her husband could have been the victim. "She was worried and she was crying. I tried to console her and comfort her, let her know everything was okay."

However, when the news developed and she found out that her husband was the gunman and had shot himself, she went "hysterical." She has since been taken by officials and is cooperating investigators.

Karla and Ivan Lopez have a daughter, who is about 3 years old.
