'Fortnite' gameplay news: More remote explosives on the way

"Fortnite," as the now most popular battle-royale game, just has to keep its place on top cemented over "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds" ("PUBG"). With numerous updates that came to the game recently, it is apparent the developers have added a lot of new features including new items that always had to do with guns. Now, they are adding more explosives to the game.

The news came out on the game's official social media accounts. "Explosive action, from a distance! Remote explosive coming soon to Fortnite Battle Royale," reads the official tweet. However, as one item is added, another is moved to the "Vault" where, as developer Epic explained, items will be stored and unusable until reactivated.

According to PC gamer, the item remote explosives will be replacing is the smoke grenades. Epic has noticed its lack of usage in the battle-royale game. Players would be able to attest to this. Given the fast-paced action in a huge and open map, it would not find much of a use in the setting.

That is of course, unless it is used extremely well or the item gets reworked, which is why it is going to the vault. As regards the remote explosives, the name pretty much explains what it can do. The bomb will be placed from far away as the one holding the remote will watch their enemies pass by it before he or she presses the button.

As for when the remote explosives will be coming to the game and generally the update that includes it, Epic has not mentioned any date for it yet. Although it can be expected to come in this week's update which will also bring the Week 4 Challenges, per VG247.

As mentioned, previous updates have also added more weapons to the game. This included the Hunting Rifle, the Hand Canon and the Crossbow that apparently has unlimited arrows. Sign-ups for the mobile version of the game has also began.
