4th of July fireworks LA 2014: Best places to watch parade, Independence Day events in Los Angeles

America celebrates its 238th birthday on July 4th, and as goes every year, it will be celebrated by millions in the nation with spectacular fireworks. Los Angeles skies are expected to be illuminated with colorful sparks, with viewing available in many locations.

Besides the usual light show, several locations in the city of angels will celebrate Independence Day with parades, music entertainment, and activities for children.

Long Beach organized a bike parade, welcoming children and adults to bring in their decorated patriotic bikes for the annual procession along the beach bike path. Other events this day include a Patriotic Oratory Competition, watermelon seed spitting and patriotic costume contest.

Huntington Beach will hold its annual Independence Day Celebration and Parade with 5K runs/walk, bands, clowns, floats, celebrities, and fireworks. There is a fee for reserved parade viewing.

Culver City will celebrate with live music, food trucks, games and fireworks at West LA College. There is an admission fee of $5 per person and $20 parking.

Shepherd of the Hills Church, Porter Ranch Time: Events and fireworks, 4-10 p.m. Address: 19700 Rinaldi Street
