Franklin Graham: 'The blood of innocent children will one day cry out for justice'

Reverend Franklin Graham became enraged when Senator Harry Reid "outrageously" declared that Republicans had "lost their moral compass" after they were unable to get the 60 votes needed to move the bill to defund abortion service provider Planned Parenthood in Congress.

"You've got it backwards Senator Reid. You lost your moral compass years ago! You openly support abortion — the murder of babies in their mothers' wombs — and now by backing Planned Parenthood you obviously support the dismemberment and sale of baby body parts," he told Reid on his Facebook page. "Shame on you and each one in Congress who did not support defunding Planned Parenthood. One day you will stand before God, and the blood of these innocent children will cry out for justice."

The American evangelist has been very outspoken against abortion as well as the activities of Planned Parenthood. He has denounced the organisation for its "evil" and "ungodly" acts and urged that the health care provider be investigated and prosecuted for selling baby parts.

"If the nearly 60 million human beings who have been legally aborted in this country since Roe vs. Wade were here to vote, I'm pretty sure they'd say to pull the plug on any and all government funding of Planned Parenthood immediately," he said, referring to the decision made by the Supreme Court back in 1973 that made abortion a fundamental right.

However, Graham also believes that there is no sin too great for God to forgive, and even those who underwent abortion or conducted abortion can still find mercy and redemption in God. "There's no sin too great for God's mercy. Forgiveness is available by turning from sin and putting our faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour," said Graham.

Quoting the Bible verse 1 John 1:9, Graham said, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

Suicide is a sin - why can't we say so?

It might just be me, but amongst all the myriad and somewhat valid objections raised, including by Christians, to "Assisted Dying" (read "Doctors Killing Patients" or "Doctors Helping Patients to Kill Themselves"), I haven't really seen the most important, indeed the all-decisive, one.
