Franklin Graham under attack for 'blaming' Duchess of Cambridge for paparazzi pictures

Leading evangelical Franklin Graham has hit out at the Duchess of Cambridge on Facebook.

The head of Samaritan's Purse and well-known Trump Supporter, Graham's Facebook comment was in response to invasive pictures of the Duchess, taken four years ago.

He said, 'We all appreciate our privacy, but we live in a high tech, digital age where it seems there's no privacy. Cameras are everywhere.' The Duchess, of all people, 'should know this', he said.

Graham's pronouncement came as a trial began in France with the Duchess and her husband Prince William seeking 1.5 million Euros in compensation in damages after topless photos were published of her at a private villa.

Graham incorrectly referred to the Duchess as 'Princess Kate' before appearing to blame her for being photographed while on private property. He said, 'If you don't want topless pictures of yourself taken, it might be a good idea to keep your top on outside. This is also a reminder to all of us that even though it seems people are always watching – more importantly, God is always watching.'

Graham's remarks were met with criticism from around the world, with one blogger summing up much of the response by saying he was 'blaming a woman for being violated'.
