Galaxy Note 5 vs. Galaxy Note 4 specs comparison: What changes will be made between the two phablets?

With the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge unveiled and ready to be released globally, Samsung will be attempting to raise the bar with its upcoming flagship phablet, the Galaxy Note 5. No doubt the upcoming smartphone will be infused with hardware specifications that will surpass the prowess of the Galaxy Note 4 but the primary difference that consumers might spot first between the two devices will be the resolution. According to Value Walk, the Galaxy Note 5 is expected to render a 4K resolution on a 5.9 inch frame, compared to the 1440p resolution present on the 5.7 inch screen size of the Galaxy Note 4.

The Galaxy Note 5 is also expected to house a 4,000 mAh battery, which will be mandatory to provide sufficient battery backup against the dense resolution. While the difference between the Galaxy Note 3 and the Galaxy Note 4's battery was just 20 mAh (the Galaxy Note 4 possess a 3,220 mAh battery), Samsung will be looking to roll out its best phablet sized device ever.

The Galaxy Note 4 was equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 805 chipset and now that Samsung has ended the partnership with the leading mobile chipset maker, the company will be looking at its own homegrown chip to be incorporated to the Galaxy Note 5. If the Galaxy S6 featured an Exynos 7420 SoC, then the upcoming phablet will be fitted with something that will make short work of even the aforementioned chip.

In addition, the Galaxy Note 5 will feature an enriched phone and is due to pack a dual-curved edged display like the Galaxy S6 Edge. The Galaxy Note 4 currently does not possess such a feature, even though it does feature the S-Pen. Perhaps this will be the first time that Samsung arms its smartphone with 4 GB of RAM, which is the borderline limit for 32 bit operating systems to recognize. The release date of the Galaxy Note 5 is looking to be at an undisclosed date during the month of September, which is the same period which the Galaxy Note 4 was announced.

More information will be published as it becomes available in the future.
