'Game of Thrones' season 6 spoilers: New photos of Kit Harington suggest Jon Snow's return

Jon Snow in Game of Thrones HBO/ Game of Thrones

Fans of "Game of Thrones" have yet to come to terms with the fact that beloved character Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was left for dead during the season 5 finale of the hit HBO series. What fans saw in the last scene of the episode that shocked the world, just before the credits rolled, was a shot of Jon lying down on the snow with his blood seeping into the ground after he was stabbed multiple times by the men of the Night's Watch.

Fans immediately took to social media to air their shock and outrage at the character's death, with some emphatically tweeting that they were "done" with the series. While many remain hopeful that Jon Snow is still alive, Harington himself confirmed in a recent interview that his character is dead.

"I've been told I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm not coming back next season," he said.

However, some new pictures of the actor at Wimbledon had fans speculating that Jon could be coming back for season 6, and the main basis for this theory is Harington's hair.

The actor was photographed with his brother Jack at the game, and while he was dressed in a very stylish and modern dark suit, Harington still seemed to be honoring his "Game of Thrones" promise to keep his beard and long hair, which appears to indicate that he may still need to get into character for the upcoming season.

Harington previously told Rolling Stone magazine about his plans after the show, and they include certain stipulations to his agent about future roles and a new look.

"I told my agent, 'No more swords, no more horses.' You [don't want to] get stuck in things. And maybe I can cut my [expletive] hair," said the actor to the magazine.

While rumors of his return have not yet been confirmed, fellow "GoT" cast member Emilia Clarke told Variety that Harington has a 50-50 chance of returning, with help from some people like the Red Priestess Melisandre.

"If I had to bet, I'd say it's a 50/50 chance — there's some helpful people there who could bring him on back to life," said the actress.
