'Ghost Recon: Wildlands' release date news: Open Beta going live next quarter

"Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands" is scheduled to arrive on March 7, 2017 Tom Clancy/Ubisoft

Ubisoft has recently discussed the future of the upcoming "Ghost Recon: Wildlands," which is an open world game that will have its open beta launched sometime within the next quarter. As such, fans of the "Ghost Recon" franchise are certainly hyped with what the game has to offer.

According to Game Rant, at Ubisoft's earnings call for its fiscal period 2016 to 2017's first half, the publisher and developer has revealed to fans that the "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" game can be tried out by players before it officially gets released on March 2017.

The specific time period for the trial was not announced yet, but Yves Guillemot — Ubisoft's CEO — said that the open beta will be coming sometime during the next quarter.

As such, with the current quarter ending by December this year, it is possible that the "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" open beta period will come sometime at the start of 2017. Of course, it is worth noting that Ubisoft has never mentioned any specific release date, so at this point, all of these details are still speculations.

However, with Guillemot discussing "Ghost Recon: Wildlands" further, he said that there are also going to be closed beta periods for the game before the open beta. The purpose behind it is that the developers want the players to have a good idea of what the gameplay for the title will be like.

He even went so far as to say that the game will be revolutionary compared to "Tom Clancy's The Division" from last year.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft has recently announced that the game "Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon" will be its next free PC game promotion. The promo was launched since the game is celebrating its 30th anniversary. According to the Game N Guide, the game certainly has a positive general public response, and is rated 8.5/10.
