Rumors are rife that Disney's coming of age series "Girl Meets World" will be cancelled by Disney but that if this happens, hope is high that Freeform could pick up the series for its fourth season.

According to reports, Disney is not keen on the direction that the show will be taking as the characters brace to move out of high school and delve into the complications that go with facing adulthood.

Adding to speculations that the show may be ending its run on Disney are photos that surfaced of Rowan Blanchard crying as she filmed a scene for the series.

Other speculations that hint at a cancellation is the rumored feud between Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter who plays her best friend Maya in the show.

Carpenter was quick to dispel the rumors in a Seventeen Magazine interview and said that it was "ridiculous."

"I think the most important thing is that we all know we love each other. And everyone within our set is a family," she said.

One of the main storylines, the love triangle between Lucas, Maya and Riley has already been resolved by the show in an unusual but hopefully peaceful way that fans of the show can get behind.

It is rumored that if Disney does not pick up the show for Season 4, Freeform could be one of the options for the show given that it could approach the show in a more "realistic" way and that writers could explore the characters with less limitations since they deal with a slightly older demographic than Disney's target audience.

It was speculated that one of the possible storylines for the continued journey of the characters is another love triangle but this time involving the characters of Maya, Josh and Zay.

It was implied in Season 3 Episode 12 with the return of Josh that there was a possibility of something romantic between him and Maya despite the three-year difference in their ages. However, it also seems that Zay may also be nursing some romantic feelings for Maya himself, according to Hall of Fame
