The Golden State Warriors continue the undefeated streak and again handed the Brooklyn Nets another defeat on their way to a 114–98 victory at the Barclays Center last Sunday.
In their first meeting back in November, the Warriors were given a hard time by the Nets for four quarters with the game going to overtime but still ending in their favor, 107–99.
It was different last Sunday as again, reigning Most Valuable Player (MVP) point guard Stephen Curry, had a scoring outburst in the third quarter to help Golden State pull away in the final frame and seal the victory.
Curry finished the night with 28 points, 16 scored in the third quarter, shooting 11-of-17 from the field which included five-of-nine from three-point country.
The 27-year-old franchise star also had five rebounds, two assists, and one steal in 32 minutes of action against Brooklyn.
Nets head coach Lionel Hollins spoke about Curry and the help he is getting from the entire Golden State squad.
"That's what great players can do. Plus, he has a great team," Hollins said, according to the Associated Press.
"He doesn't have to go out there and do it all the time. Last night he had 44. Two nights ago when they were in Charlotte he had 43. When he needs to he can and when he doesn't need to he takes a backseat to those guys," he added.
Besides Curry, forward Draymond Green also had a great night, tallying 22 points, nine rebounds, seven assists, and one steal.
The other Splash Brother came up big as well, as Klay Thompson had an all-around game with 21 points, three rebounds, three assists, one steal, and two blocks.
Golden State remains on top of the Western Conference with its immaculate 22–0 record, four and a half games ahead of the second best team in the West, the San Antonio Spurs.
The Dubs will continue the seven-game road trip they are having and are stopping at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse this Tuesday to take on the Indiana Pacers.
