Earlier this month, NBC released the official schedule of its fall lineup, and fans of "The Good Wife" can hardly wait for October for the show's return. Viewers are curious to see what will become of Alicia Florrick (Julianna Marguilies) and the other characters on the hit series. 

Although season 6 ended on a good note, fans mourned the fact that Archie Panjabi was leaving the show, and they were even more upset that Matthew Goode, who plays Finn, won't be returning for the seventh season. Given how many were rooting for him and Alicia to be together as a potential couple, it's clear how loyal viewers feel about the loss of what might have been truly great Alicia-and-Finn moments. Many were speculating that Finn might return, but his refusal to join Alicia's firm cements the fact that he's going away for good. 

So what's in store for Alicia in season 7? Matt Czuchry, who plays Alicia's enemy-turned-friend Cary, told E! News that he hopes for some intriguing scenes between Cary and Alicia next season. 

"I think what could be interesting is if they're on opposite sides, but they're in a different place in terms of their connections," the actor told the website. "They are friends and I think there's a mutual respect there, so if they are against each other but have that friendship at the same time, those gray areas, to be able to play that, would be interesting."  

So far, there has been very little news about the upcoming season, and according to CarterMatt, the only thing that has been confirmed is the addition of Cush Jumbo as a major recurring player. Filming for season 7 will reportedly start a little later this summer in New York City. 

Season 7 of "The Good Wife" premieres on Sunday, Oct. 4, at 9 p.m. on NBC.
