Buyers wishing to get a Google Nexus 6 or another Motorola handset can nab the device for less as discounts are now available in Flipkart

The online store offers the discounted Motorola handsets – Google Nexus 6, Moto G (Gen 2), and Moto X (Gen 2) models – in its "Moto Days" promo. The promotional campaign runs until Feb. 15. The huge discounts are available via exchange program, meaning users can trade their old handsets for the 2014 line up of the mobile tech company.

The prices are in Indian currency, with the 32 GB of Google's Nexus 6 costing 43,999 rupees and the 64 GB variant priced at 48,999 rupees.

This is not the first time that the Nexus 6 is being offered at a discount. U.S. carrier T-Mobile slashed $48 off the handset with the use of coupon code NEXUS6DEAL. The code can be used to purchase the 32 and 64 GB versions of the Midnight Blue variant of the device, bringing the price down to $601 for the 32 GB model and $651 for the 64 GB variant.

Although this is not the biggest discount for the handset, the Google Nexus 6 is rarely spotted in the Google Play Store, especially the 64 GB version. Google Chief Financial Officer Patrick Pichette confirmed that supply of the handset is scarce. However, he did not specify the difficulties being encountered by the company in producing the handset.

"While the Nexus 6 was very well received as a new phone, we had real issues and were unable to secure sufficient inventory to meet the demand that we had forecasted," Pichette told Android Central.

As a refresher, the Nexus 6 was released in October last year and it comes with the following specs and features: 6-inch screen display with Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) resolution, quad-core Snapdragon 805 SoC clocked at 2.7 GHz, Adreno 420 GPU, 3 GB of RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera, and 3220 mAh battery. The smartphone is available in 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage variants and runs with Android 5.0 Lollipop OS.
