GoPro Hero 4 release date in October? New camera to revolutionize sports photography

GoPro's Hero 3+ has been so well-received, that it has pumped up the revenue of the company close to $1 billion last year, and the company's value has even raked up some $3 billion after completing its IPO.

Add to that several accolades and praises from some of the most important organizations and individuals that the company and its founder have received since Hero 3+.

That is why one can only imagine how difficult it must be to top this product up, given that people still continue to patronize it in various important events of their lives.

But it seems that the company has not been deterred from giving us an even better product because if DGISE is to be believed, the new GoPro Hero 4 is set to be released in October – yes, way earlier than the rumored March 2015 release – and the website has revealed such exciting improvements on the upcoming product, that any sports photography enthusiast will surely salivate over the specs that have just been leaked.

The website says that GoPro Hero 4 has the capacity to record with a 4K resolution at a speed of 30 frames per second, 1080p at 120fps, and 720p at 240fps, all thanks to the new SoC Ambarella A9 chip (dual A9 ARM Core ® CortexTM-A9 processor 1GHz with FPU accelerator) making the device suitable for advanced applications, wireless connection, and streaming video in social media.

The seemingly most exciting revelation is the fact that the newer product will have a 13-megapixel photosensor and a completely new lens, making it perfect for shooting in the dark. Add to that the several new and improved features of multi-exposure and HDR WDR tone mapping, electronic image stabilization, improved MCTF, dual sensor interfaces 12-lane SLVDS/HiSPiTM/subLVDS, 4-lane, and a remote viewfinder playback which does not require any technical knowledge to be used.

Of course this new product is waterproof and can go under water up to 60 meters deep. But better yet, the new product will have built-in Wi-Fi module, USB, and HDMI. Can sports photography really get any better than that?
