GoPro Hero 5 is still a subject of rumors with no confirmation from the company if it will be released or not.

However, a report from Gospel Herald suggests that the action camera will be released sometime in 2016. This release date has been postponed since GoPro is determined to make the successor a much more superior camera than the Hero 4.

But this projected release date is only based on speculations, just like the specs and features of the Hero 5.

GoPro Hero 5 will be a better version of the Hero 4 with major updates and upgrades to its specs. One of the highlights expected from the Hero 5 is its capability to shoot stunning videos while underwater.

The waterproof feature of the Hero series is said to undergo major update, allowing the camera to go as far as 60 meters underwater, Ecumenical News reported. For diving purposes, the next Hero camera may include special camera housing.

It was also mentioned in the report that Hero 5 should be able to shoot 8K videos.

LatinosPost also reported that the upgraded Hero camera will be a lot smaller and lighter compared to its predecessor. This should make Hero 5 an impressive action camera for all thrill-seekers since it will be more convenient to bring along.

All the rumored specs of Hero 5 suggest that the action camera is something that many fans should look forward to. However, they remain as rumors and GoPro has yet to confirm them.

Meanwhile, it appears that GoPro Hero 5 won't be the only anticipated release from the company. A new quadcopter, or commonly known as drone, will also be released sometime in 2016.

First hinted by GoPro founder and CEO Nick Woodman back in May, the drone now has its official name — Karma.

Woodman didn't share much about GoPro Karma, but only said that the camera would bring a "real 'Oh my God' moment" during his interview with Recode.

The company has released an official teaser for Karma and it mentioned the tentative release date and what the drone is capable of shooting.
