The Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor) has some serious competition to the throne for number mob boss when "Gotham" returns for season 2.
Fox has recently released a poster for the Batman prequel series that features the new set of villains to terrorize the city. The Hollywood Reporter offers a first look at the said lineup. Two unfamiliar faces shown on the artwork belonged to Theo Galavan (James Frain) and his sister Tabitha (Jessica Lucas), also known in the comic book as Tigress.
Meanwhile, another twist the "Gotham" fans are looking forward to see is Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) former girlfriend Barbara Kean (Erin Richards), who got sent to Arkham Asylum. Last season, she tried to kill Leslie (Morena Baccarin) after confessing that she murdered her parents. Barbara was slowly losing her mind after being abducted and brainwashed by The Ogre.

During the Comic-Con International in San Diego, Richards said that there was something about her character that hinted of "darkness" within. She said that Barbara has many layers that were all pretense, from the time she was with her parents and then with Jim, and that the Barbara in season 2 is the real one.
"She never really felt like she was in her own skin. Now, she's the most "Barbara" she's ever been. She's, like, flowing out. She's joyous in her darkness. That was always right at the center of her."
The actress also hinted at the villain's powers, saying that her skill was in knowing everyone's weakness and then exploiting it. Comicbook Resources reports that Barbara enjoyed toying with her victims, playing along until she got what she wanted. Richards also said that her character would be "really powerful" in season 2.
When asked about the mysterious Jerome (Cameron Monaghan), who may or may not be The Joker, Richards played coy and said that in Arkham Asylum, they only call him by his given name.
"She goes into Arkham and she meets all these characters, one of which is Jerome. These characters are going to shape her a little bit. They all shape the way Barbara develops in this series."
"Gotham" season 2 premieres Sept. 21 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
