Grand jury that indicted anti-abortion probers did not even vote on Planned Parenthood's liability

The Texas grand jury that indicted two pro-life investigators who exposed the sale of aborted baby parts through videos never even voted on the possible criminal liability of Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood lawyer Josh Schaffer told the Associated Press that a prosecutor told him the grand jury did not vote on the abortion provider's criminal liability.

It appears that Planned Parenthood was not even investigated, the Christian News Network reported, despite calls for District Attorney Devon Anderson to probe the abortion provider's practices.

"No vote means no investigation. The people are entitled to an unbiased investigation into the serious allegations of illegal conduct by Planned Parenthood. That does not appear to have happened," said Cheryl Sullenger, senior vice president of Operation Rescue.

The grand jury voted on the charges against David Daleiden of the Center for Medical Progress (CMP) and his employee Sandra Merritt.

Daleidin was charged with "tampering with a governmental record" for making a fake driver's licence when he did his undercover investigation on Planned Parenthood and a misdemeanor on the purchase of aborted babies.

"The tampering charge ... is for the use of a California identification in order to enter the Planned Parenthood clinic for the purpose of investigation," said Katie Short with the Life Legal Defense Association. "However, the law also provides a defence where the false information has 'no effect on the government's purpose for requiring the governmental record.'"

Merritt is facing a charge of tampering with a government record for printing the licence.

One of the videos released by CMP showed Planned Parenthood Medical Director Deborah Nucatola saying, "I'd say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they'll know where they're putting their forceps."

"[Y]ou're just kind of cognizant where you put your graspers. You try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that—-you know. We've been very good at getting the heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so 'I'm not gonna crush that part. I'm gonna basically crush below, I'm gonna crush above, and I'm gonna see if I can get it all intact,'" she added.

In another video, Mary Gatter, the president of Planned Parenthood's Medical Directors Council, discussed with undercover investigators about payment for the foetal parts.

"I want a Lamborghini," she said.

Recently, it was found out that a board director of Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast also works as a prosecutor in the district attorney's office that pursued the Planned Parenthood case.
