Another member of the Green Bay Packers' offense was injured, this time in their 27–17 Week 2 win over the Seattle Seahawks as running back Eddie Lacy went down with an ankle injury.
Lacy was hurt in the first quarter and left the game, although, according to ESPN, it seemed like he was set to return after getting his ankle retaped.
But a few moments after, Lacy was carted to the locker room and was ruled out of the game.
The good news for the Packers and Lacy, the X-ray results for his ankle came back negative, although it is still uncertain when he will be able to play.
But NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport tweeted, "#Packers RB Eddie Lacy, who sprained his ankle last night against the #Seahawks, could actually play on #MNF vs. #Chiefs. Injury is minor."
The Packers will return to action on Monday, Sept. 28, taking on the Kansas City Chiefs who are coming off a loss against the Denver Broncos.
Lacy finished the game only having three carries for nine yards and was replaced by James Starks who played well having 20 carries for 95 yards but lost one fumble.
ESPN and NFL.com reported that Lacy was not the only player injured in the Packers' Week 2 matchup with Seattle.
Wide receiver Davante Adams also had an ankle injury and was carted to the locker room as well, but was able to return to the game and finish with five receptions for 33 yards.
Also, defensive end Josh Boyd, injured his ankle in the first half and never returned to the game.
Despite the injuries, the Packers' triumph over the Seahawks is huge, considering the latter's back-to-back Super Bowl appearances for the past two seasons.
The win also solidified the Packers' claim of the top spot in the National Football Conference (NFC) North at 2–0.
Green Bay's streak will be tested when they play against the Chiefs who have been performing very well but were stunned by quarterback Peyton Manning and the Broncos in their last game.
