'GTA V' Xbox One Premium Edition news: Leak reveals a possible March release

Even if "Grand Theft Auto V" ("GTA V") has been out for a few years now, it still remains to be one of the best-selling games in the United States last year. There's no pressure then to come out with a "GTA VI" installment with the "GTA V" still doing this great. Even then, an alleged "GTA V" Premium Edition has been leaked online.

Like many leaked game releases and editions, this one also came in the form of a listing specifically on Amazon, per TheNerdMag. Being one of the biggest online shopping sites, it gives the leaked info a certain authenticity. This alleged Premium Edition does not have many details on its Amazon page but it does provide some important information.

First is that the edition will be made for the Xbox One, although it does not seem likely for it to be an exclusive, as Wccftech also reports a PlayStation 4 (PS4) version. Given the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro being released later than the actual game, this new edition will likely support better visual up to 4K resolution.

Interestingly, the page also listed a release date set on March 23, 2018. Aside from the fact that no confirmation was given by Rockstar Games, fans can probably already dismiss the date as a placeholder given that it is close to the end of Spring. Placeholder dates are usually set at the end of the year or season, and since the end of Spring this year is on March 21 — two days before the listed date — it is highly likely that the date is not the real one.

This is not the first time that Amazon has mistakenly made a listing public ahead of the intended date. It also had released listings on both the latest "God of War" game and the "South Park: The Fractured But Whole" port for the Nintendo Switch.

As for the possible "GTA V" Premium Edition, it may likely cost around €69.95. For now, fans will just have to wait for any official announcements.
